Richard has over 25 years of experience within the auction world. He originally started work in The Long Street Salerooms when it was owned by Phillips. Since then, he has worked for numerous firms of auctioneers from Bearne's in Torquay up to Tennants in Yorkshire.

If you call the office to arrange a free home visit, then it will probably be Richard who will see you at your property.

In 2003 and 2004, Richard was nominated as one of the top four auctioneers in the country at The British Antique & Collectors Awards (BACA). This was the first time an auctioneer has been nominated for two consecutive years.

Matthew Whitney - Valuer & Cataloguer
email: mw@charterhouse-auctions.co.uk

Matthew has had a lifelong interest in antiques and art, as his father has been a professional artist for many years. Matthew also has a particular interest in wristwatches which we sell successfully, such as an 18ct gold Patek Phillipe wristwatch which achieved £7,800, sold in one of our specialist auctions held three times a year.

In addition, and still on the mechanics side, Matthew is the head of our Classic Car and Motorbike Department. He organises these immensely popular and successful sales. Top price so far is £49,000 (plus premium). We hold prestigious auctions at the Bristol Classic Car shows in February and November, our restoration sale in the spring at Blackmarsh Farm in Sherborne, and our Summer Car auction is held at Classics at the Castle, located at Sherborne Castle. Please contact Matthew at the salerooms if you would like more information on entering lots for any of these events.

She joins us in the salerooms helping and advising clients, and is in charge of Beswick due to her own particular interest in this subject. We hold regular specialist Beswick, Doulton and Border Fine Art sales, and if you are interested in consigning lots to auction please feel free to contact Naomi for help and advice.

His primary role is to help and advise clients throughout the West Country on their wines, spirits and port. This will be conducted on the telephone, via email and also at our regular free valuation days which we hold at our salerooms.

Sarah Parson - PA to Richard Bromell & Events Manager
email sp@charterhouse-auctions.co.uk

Sarah manages our busy diary and assists with the running of the office. Please call her if you would like an appointment for one of our valuers to come and see you. Sarah also oversees the postage of parcels after each auction, and will be delighted to deal with any other enquiries you may have.

Justine Holland - Receptionist
email: jh@charterhouse-auctions.co.uk

Justine is in charge of our busy reception, and is your first point of contact, whether you telephone us or call in. She is also in charge of packing parcels. Please contact us if we can help by posting your purchases to you. There is a standard charge of £15 per parcel for packing, plus your chosen form of postage. This packing charge may vary - packing of pictures with glass for example takes extra time, and can cost more. The charges should be agreed with us at time of request. We are very happy to carry out this service for you, but please be aware that although we rarely have problems, sometimes items do go astray, through no fault of our own. The posting of parcels is done entirely at your own risk, and we do not offer compensation for loss or damage.  Justine is also in charge of sending our emailed condition reports and image requests prior to each sale. Skilled at customer relations, Justine will be delighted to help with your enquiries!

Janet Vincent - Saleroom assistant
email: enquiry@charterhouse-auctions.co.uk

Janet is in charge of our archives and stored items - she will contact you if you have forgotten to collect an item, and will be delighted to help with any queries about historial auctions.

David Sims & Jez Speed - Saleroom and Van staff

If you have an item which needs collecting or delivering, then David & Jez will be at your service. They have literally decades of experience of packing, lifting, and loading of ceramics, pictures and furniture, so you know you will be in safe hands.

In addition to the collection an delivery service, we also clear properties where instructed. Here we always leave properties clear and tidy - even vacuuming where necessary. Our office staff will be happy to pass messages to David and Jez.

We also have a large number of staff who help for sale and view days, who will be pleased to help you with your enquiries.

Joyce Dibble - Saleroom Assistant & Catering

Joyce helps with viewing of lots and generally assists in the salerooms. If you visit us on an auction day you may wish to sample her excellent catering, including tea and coffee, a selection of sandwiches, bacon rolls and far too many delicious homemade cakes to be strictly necessary!

Biggles - mascot
Based in Abigail's office, Biggles always meets clients with a waggy tail. He earns his keep by regularly featuring in our glossy auction catalogue, where he can be spotted in amongst the antiques. If you would like to receive a catalogue please contact Justine Holland. Catalogues are currently £7 for antique sales and £11 for car sales, although this does sometimes vary. Ask Justine about our annual subscription. Biggles would help, but prefers to concentrate on customer relations.
