Full Steam Ahead at Charterhouse

Image047a“It is a beautifully constructed scratch built 3.5 inch scale model of a British Railways steam locomotive and tender which the owner built and ran in his back garden pulling his grandchildren!” Commented Richard Bromell. “Although we do not know how long it took him to build the engine and tender, it must have taken 1,000’s of highly skilled hours.”

Sadly the Devon owner passed away and Charterhouse were invited by the family to his home for help and advice. Wanting the locomotive to go to a good home, where it might pull more friends and family again, they decided to enter it into the Charterhouse auction of collector’s items on Friday 22nd September.Train-1

Estimated at £3,000-5,000 plus buyer’s premium 24% (inc Vat) it will attract interest from live steam enthusiasts and model collectors alike.
